Obituary of John Lydon, Jr. John William Lydon, Jr., 84, of Pocomoke City, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, surrounded by family and friends. Born on February 12, 1934 in Baltimore City, MD, he was the son of the late John and Bertha Richardson Lydon. John joined the U.S. Navy right out of high school in 1951, earning his G.E.D. in the Navy.

He was a Parachute Rigger Chief and served 24 years including four tours in Vietnam, retiring June 30, 1975. John then became the maintenance supervisor at Wicomico Nursing Home, retiring again in 1993. He was a member of the American Legion Post #93 in Pocomoke City.

He was an avid collector of “anything” he could take apart and examine, sometimes putting them back together. He also had his own locksmith service. John is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eleanor “Lou” Lydon; two sons, John W. Lydon III and his wife Cynthia of Saluda, VA and Mike Lydon and his wife Karen of White Plains, MD; two daughters, Theresa Justice and her husband Mike of Atlantic, VA and Kathy Lydon of Pocomoke City, MD; one brother, Mike Lydon and his wife Monique of Bel Air, MD; ten grandchildren, Chris Justice, LouAnn Pollitt, LeAnna Scoggins, John, Dawn, David, Danny, Drew, Mary and Elizabeth Lydon; nine great grandchildren and numerous extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David Lydon and one sister, Mary Swords. A graveside funeral service, with military honors, will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 11:30am in the First Baptist Cemetery, 2240 Old Snow Hill Road, Pocomoke City. Rev.

Brian Albert will officiate. A visitation will be held from 10-11am at the Holloway Funeral Home in Pocomoke City. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Dept.
