OBITUARY Dorothy Lois Warner December 12, 1926 – October 27, 2018 Dorothy Lois Zigmand Warner, 91, of Salisbury died Saturday October 27, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born December 12, 1926 in New York City to the late Edward and Helen Zigmand. Dorothy was a graduate of Newtown High School and Katherine Gibbs School.

While living in Plainview, New York for 36 years she was an active member of St Pius X Church and served on numerous committees. In 1991, Dorothy and her husband Robert retired and moved to Salisbury to live with their daughter Helene Conick, son in law Jim and daughters, Allison, Emily, Jessica, and Grace. In Salisbury Dorothy was an active member of St Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, where she served as an Eucharist minister, the Art and Environment committee, Prayer Group, the Joseph House, Sister Mary Clare Guild, and her most heartfelt ministry was being a founding member of the Sister Parish Committee for Our Lady of Mercy in Managua, Nicaragua and the special friendship she shared with Father Antonio Castro.

Along with her dedication to Church and her family, Dorothy was an avid gardener, a Past President of the Four Seasons Garden Club, and Board member and Past Chairman of Poplar Hill Mansion. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years Robert “Bob” Warner, Father, Mother, and brother. She is survived by her 6 children; Barbara Warner, Janice Nadeau, Robert Warner, Edward Warner, Helene Conick, Anne Heavner, their spouses, 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, her special birthday club friends, the St Francis Filipino community and her Hair Odyssey Family whom she so loved.

Friends and family may call at Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury Thursday from 6 to 8pm and one hour prior to a Mass of Christian burial that will be celebrated on Friday at 10a.m. at St Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Interment will be in Maryland Veteran’s Cemetery Eastern Shore near Hurlock Md. Flowers and Donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Warner to St Francis de Sales, 514 Camden Ave, Salisbury MD 21801.
