Obituary of Barbara Bunting Barbara Watson Bunting, 86, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Aurora Senior Living of Manokin in Princess Anne, MD. Born in Wishart’s Point VA on October 5, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Marion & Laura Watson. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband of 67 years, Richard Bunting of Pocomoke City, daughter Diane Bunting of Lakebay WA, and son Glenn, daughter-in-law Darcy & granddaughters Caitlin Bunting & Jessica Bunting, all of Allen MD.

After graduating as Salutatorian of Atlantic High School’s class of 1951 and marrying, Barbara worked as a bank teller in her younger days before leaving to raise her family. As her two children were growing up, she volunteered in many civic organizations such as the Parent Teachers Association, Pocomoke Band Parents Club and Junior Women’s Club, having served as President. A member of Salem United Methodist Church for over sixty years, Barbara served on various committees, volunteered as a Sunday school teacher and was active in the United Methodist Women.

For many years, she worked as executive secretary to Holly Farms’ division manager and as bookkeeper for various local businesses. She loved her beach time, crossword puzzles, reading and travelling. Over the years, she expressed her creativity and refined eye for beauty through projects such as the design of the family’s home and gardens, and activities such as sewing, cross-stitch and basket weaving.

Her family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful care given by the nurses & staff of Aurora Senior Living of Manokin. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 11 am at Salem United Methodist Church, Second and Walnut Streets, Pocomoke City, where friends & family may call from 10 am – 11 am. Following the funeral service, there will be a reception in the church fellowship hall.

A private committal service will take place in Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Onancock, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Salem United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 145, Pocomoke City, MD 21851. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Pocomoke City, MD 21851.
