Alvin L. Ward, 74, Sandusky, died Friday afternoon in St. Vincent Mercy Hospital, Toledo. He was born October 4, 1943 in Norwalk, Ohio to Alvin R. Ward and Katherine (Hersha) Ward. He was employed with Volunteers of America for many years, and was a member of the Sandusky Eagles, American Legion Post 83, AMVETS and VFW 2529.

He loved to fish, and also enjoyed karaoke and playing cards. Al loved his family, which included his wife, Debora (Seville); daughters Katelyn (Bryan) Roll of Huron and Kelly Montgomery of Castalia; sons, Justin Lee (Paula) Ward of Sandusky, William (Brittany) Ward of Bowling Green, and Alvin Lee Stuart Ward of Michigan; ten grandchildren; sisters, Rose (James) Winters and Mildred (Mickey) Forsythe, both of Sandusky; brothers, Donald Ward, Rick Ward and Chet (Lucy) Taylor, all of Sandusky; special cousin, Shirley Fulton; numerous nieces and nephews, including his special nephew, Donnie Ward; and best friends, Dan Jackson and Jack Newman. His parents preceded him in death.

Friends may call on Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave. , Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by burial at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
