He was taken from this earth in a fatal car accident on February 27, 2019 the day after his 23rd Birthday. Alwin, Jr. was the type of person who went out of his way to unify people.

In fact, when he was just 4 years old he would stand at the bottom of his Great grandmother’s stairs and preach to his Imaginary congregation. From a very young age Alwin Jr. was an extremely high spirited little boy. He was full of joy and ambition.

His mother will remember him for his love of music and cooking, while his father describes him as a Protector who would do anything for his family. “He was such a loving, dedicated and supportive man/father”, say his sisters and significant other. “He is funny, just funny, that boy will make you laugh even in the most serious of situations”.

, says his God Father. Alwin Jr. was an undeniably, and unforgettable blessing to all those who were fortunate to cross paths with him. His loving spirit, humorous sarcasm, and unwavering loyalty, will be missed by all.

So friends and family as we lay him to rest, let’s remember his heart warming smile, his kindness, and witty sense of humor. May these thoughts allow our hearts to be at peace. Alwin is preceded in death by His maternal grandparents Erudinia Negron, Gadiel Salas and also, his Paternal Grandfather Aston Burke Sr. who he inherited his sense of humor from.

. Alwin Jr. “Owen” is survived by his parents, Yolaida Salas & Alwin Burke, Sr., His God Father Jash Pressley, his loving God Mother Jessica O’Connor, The Love of his life, Samantha Sampson; His 8 yr. old son, Aiden Smith.

Three step children, Angel Lopez, Angelise Lopez, and Heaven Sampson. His sisters, Chanel Brantley, Leanna Gaynor, Jolie Sanders and Glory Burke. His brothers Garfield Weston and Aston Burke Jr. Two very Loving grandmothers on his father’s side Irene Elaine Goodwin and V. Deans-Burke.

His amazing step Grandpa on his Mother’s side, Angel Cotto Sr. His nephew Jayvien Wiggins. His maternal Aunts and Uncles; Louis Marero, Zoraida Tarraza, Marilu Rios (Richard Garcia), Jose Otero (Joann), Gadiel Salas (Amber), Angel Cotto Jr. (Veronica) as well as His Paternal Aunts and Uncles; Andrea Allen (Wayne), Aquana Raffington (Gregory), Elsa Burke, Pauline Burke-Smith (Mike), Karlton, Anthony and Delroy Burke, as well as a host of great-aunts, aunts, cousins, relatives and friends.
