Obituary for Ana Maria Melendez Ana Maria Melendez, 91, of Waukegan, passed away on July 02, 2018. Ana was born in Puerto Rico September 14, 1926, came to Waukegan in 1950 with husband Felix Sr. and 4 children and later 6 children more made 10. She was a stay at home house wife and was a member of St. Joseph’s Church.

She was a true believer of prayer and raised her children the old fashion way to be respectful and caring people. Ana is survived by son’s Santo (Mary) of AZ. and Felix Jr. (Julie) of IN.

, daughter’s Carmen FL. , Rose Staben (Milton) and Ada of Waukegan, and a host of family in Puerto Rico. Ana was preceded in death by parents Gertrude and Engracia Alvarez of Puerto Rico, son’s Eladeo, Isaac and Angel (Ana), daughter’s Porfiria and Martha Myore (Kenneth).

A celebration of life will be held in her honor. She leaves 34 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren and 20 great greatgrandchildren. Services will be Saturday, July 07 at Memorial Chapel of Waukegan, 1521 Washington St., from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., burial will follow as Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville.
