Obituary for Wesley James Knodel Wesley James Knodel, born to Jeanne and Mike, blessed this world on Tuesday, May 21, 1996. In 1998 the family arrived to their new home in Zion, IL. Wesley liked to ride up and down the alleys and sidewalks in his spotless red Jeep.

Wesley had a charismatic way that drew people to him as a boy, even though at one time he was extremely bald. He had a great time just sitting down to talk with the neighbor, and knowing all the towns gossip in the process. Wesley spent most of his years running and playing on the streets of Ezra with his instigating older sisters, Heather and Hydee.

He was always the type of person who would drop everything and grab a bucket to help you extinguish any flames, no matter how big. Wesley’s family gleamed with pride when he walked the stage and graduated from Zion-Benton High School in 2014. Wesley’s proudest moment was becoming an amazing uncle to his little Boogie, Declan Reese.

Wesley touched our souls with his warm playful spirit and golden heart. Saturday, September 1, 2018, Wesley left this earth, spreading his wings soring high above watching us; but, our heavy hearts were not ready to let him go. We will love you until the end of days Wesley James and may your soul be forever free.

The Celebration of Life Memorial for Wesley will be on Sunday, Sept 16, 1:00pm at the VFW in Winthrop Harbor, 1112 Sheridan Rd. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Wesley James Knodel please visit our Sympathy Store.
