Anita C. (Danie) Hollister, 97, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Willimansett Center West, with her loving family at her side. Born May 9, 1921, daughter of the late Hormidas and Fabianna (Pepin) Danie, she had been a communicant of the former St. Patrick’s Church. Anita retired after working for many years as a waitress at the West Springfield Friendly’s, and worked previously at J.M. Fields at Springfield Plaza.

She had been an avid bingo player and enjoyed those gatherings with friends. Anita was predeceased by her beloved husband, Herbert F. Hollister, and by her daughter-in-law, Pauline Hollister. She is survived by her loving son, George L. Hollister of Chicopee; cherished granddaughter, Cindy A. Colangione and husband Ryan of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Evelyn Derendal, and Rene and Leo Danie. Funeral services for Anita will be held Thursday from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in Sacred Heart Church, Chestnut St., Springfield. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Chicopee.
