Austintown – There was a gathering of family and friends Tues. May 8, 2018 at Schiavone Funeral Home to celebrate the life of Anita Sferra Salani 90, who died Sat. May 5, 2018 in St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center.

Anita was formerly of Kirk Rd. She was born January 28, 1928 in Carovilli, Campobasso, Italy and was the daughter of Joseph and Filomena Conti Sferra. Coming to America in 1956 to Seneca St. in the Brier Hill Section of Youngstown.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. Anita is survived by her son, Roy S. Salani (Marla) of Poland; her sister, Elena in Italy; two grandchildren, Damian and Madison and was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy F. Salani whom she married Feb. 15, 1958 died Sept.

7, 2012; her brother, Attilio Sferra; and her sister, Maria Virgilio. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Demidovich for all the kind and compassionate care he provided to Anita and to Dr. Ben Hayek for his lifelong excellent care. A special thank you to all the caring hospice and Windsor House staff and St. Mary’s for their outstanding care.

Anita is buried in Resurrection Cemetery.
