Obituary for Anna C. Bingham Anna Theresa Cady Bingham, age 88, formerly a long-time resident of Penfield, NY passed away peacefully at the Masonic Care Community, Utica, on August 30, 2018. Anna was born on November 3, 1929 in Rochester, NY. Anna grew up in the 19th ward of Rochester and was a graduate of St. Monica’s Catholic School in 1942 and West High School in 1946.

She was the youngest of three with older brothers Charles Edward Cady and Joseph Earl Cady. Anna and Henry Thomas Bingham married in 1954. The couple settled in Penfield in the early 1970’s, where they raised their three daughters; Lisa, Jamie and Kim.

Anna and Tom spent their entire lives together in the Rochester area before relocating to Utica five years ago to be closer to family. As a young woman Anna worked for the Rochester Telephone Company for many years. Later in life she worked with family at the Nulton Funeral Home in Penfield.

She attended and volunteered at the Church of the Incarnation in Penfield. Anna enjoyed crafts and was part of a local Home Bureau where she loved to talk and create items for her home and family. She spent her life making a home always open to her family and friends and helping others.

She loved nature, bird watching, dogs and especially her family. We were lucky to have such a loving, fun and active matriarch of our family. Anna is survived by husband of 65 years, Tom Bingham of Acacia Village, Utica, daughter Lisa (Bingham) Calhoun and husband Mark of Utica, Jamie (Bingham) Brennan of Leesburg, VA and Kim (Bingham) Meusel and her husband Thomas of Acton, MA.

Anna is also grandmother and “Mimi” to five grandchildren Cassandra and Jarod Gilbert of Leesburg, VA and Anna, Tommy and William Meusel of Acton, MA and numerous “grandpets”. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 12 -2 p.m. at McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd, Utica. Funeral services will commence following visitation at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Anna’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
