Obituary for Anna Louise Thompson McTighe Anna Louise Thompson McTighe, 97, formerly of Greenwood, SC, Rehoboth Beach, DE, Pittsburgh, PA and Wilmington, DE, passed away on June 5, 2018 at Grand Strand Health in Myrtle Beach, SC. Anna was born in Delmar, MD on August 4, 1920 and grew up in Stanton, DE. Anna graduated from nursing school in Wilmington, DE and served as a registered nurse for 31 years as well as a Realtor in Pittsburgh, PA.

She married Willard I. Johnson and had 2 children, Carol Johnson Chastain (David of Travelers Rest, SC and Janet Johnson Bartie (Paul) of Myrtle Beach, SC. During her long life she enjoyed golfing, traveling, reading, serving her communities as an avid Volunteer. She enjoyed spending time with her loving friends from Rock Presbyterian Church and the “Y” swimming class in Greenwood, SC.

Her most treasured joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles E. Thompson, Myrtle Perry Thompson, her brother, Charles E. Thompson of Philadelphia, PA and her husband, John J. McTighe. She is survived by her 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Chastain Sharpe (Will) of Travelers Rest, SC, Jeffrey Chastain (Lindsay) of Greer, SC and Courtney Bartie Hicks (David) of Myrtle Beach, SC.

She is also survived by her 6 great grandchildren, Will and Parker Sharpe of Travelers Rest, SC. Reese and Sydney Chastain of Greer, SC and Anna Chapman and Carter Hicks of Myrtle Beach, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Greater Greenwood United Ministry (Greenwood, SC) or Embrace Hospice (Myrtle Beach, SC).
