Anne’s Obituary Anne Maureen (Finnerty) McCann, 80, of Merrimack passed away on Sunday February 10th at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. She was born in Malden MA to the late James Finnerty and Mary (Doherty) Finnerty of Woburn MA. She was raised in Woburn, and was a graduate of the St. Charles High School class of 1955.

She and her husband John moved to Needham MA where they lived for 15 years, prior to settling in Merrimack for the past 38 years. Anne worked for New England Telephone as a supervisor for 11 years before devoting her time to raising her family. In her free time she enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling, especially to Florida, sewing, watching General Hospital and QVC, and spending time with friends and family.

For many years she was a ballot inspector in Merrimack, a member of the Senior Center in Merrimack, and was awarded the 2010 Grassroots Award from the Hillsboro County Democratic Committee. Anne was extremely involved with the state Democratic Party, being active on a local level for the Bill Clinton campaigns and also worked for Jeanne Shaheen. Anne worked on campaigns for Dick Swett, Paul Tsongas, and Dick Gephardt as well.

Anne will be missed and never forgotten by her loving husband of 54 years John McCann of Merrimack, son Jack McCann and his wife Greta of Hampton, daughter Beth DeRego and her husband Todd of Hollis, son Paul McCann and his wife Kim of Weare. Grandchildren Aria McCann, Dustin McCann, Jared McCann, Levon McCann, Jack McCann, and Tucker McCann of Hampton. Julia DeRego and Lauren DeRego of Hollis.

Ryanne McCann and Brady McCann of Weare. She is also survived by her brother Bill Finnerty and his wife Jo Ann of Mont Vernon, NH, and many nieces and nephews. A small, private memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 5th at 2 PM at the Rivet Funeral Home 425 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack.

Anne’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Carlisle Place in Bedford, where Anne resided for the past 6 months. The care they provided was amazing and won’t soon be forgotten. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Anne’s honor may be made to the Community Hospice House 7 Executive Drive Merrimack NH 03054.
