Obituary for Anthony J. Carvelli Utica – Anthony J. Carvelli, 88, passed away, peacefully, with his daughter by his side, watching TV as they always did, on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Faxton- St. Luke’s Healthcare. Anthony was born on July 20, 1930 in Utica, the son of Rosario and Laura (Menita) Carvelli. He was a 1950 graduate of Proctor High School.

Anthony was a proud U.S Army veteran serving as a radio operator during the Korean Conflict. On July 10, 1954, Anthony married Evelyn Korzec in New York Mills. They enjoyed a union of 52 years prior to her passing on January 22, 2007.

Anthony was employed as a security officer at the New York State Office Building in Utica prior to retiring. Anthony was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be unreplaceable. He was a true gentleman who never swore a day in his life.

Anthony was a hard worker and was tough to the very end. An avid Yankees, Rangers and Giants fan, who regardless of the temperature, could always be found wearing his beloved Giants blanket. He was known for his love of cookies and cupcakes.

Anthony had a very special place in his heart for his canine grandson, Nyke who predeceased him. Surviving are his daughter, Laura Mucurio, Utica; sister, Rosie Kowalski; grandchildren, Richard, Jr. (Rachel), Vincent (Morgan), Anthony (Catherine) Mucurio; Jennifer (Josue) Soto; great grandchildren, Brook, Korin, Evelina, Lucille, Vincent, Nellie, Abigail, Julian and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thank you to Jackie, Edwin and JoAnn.

Anthony was predeceased by his son-in-law, Richard Mucurio, Sr.; sisters, Agnes Piperata and Theresa Fraccola. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday from 4-6 p.m. at McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd. , Utica.

Funeral services will commence following visitation at 6 p.m. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus & Casimir Cemetery, Whitesboro. In lieu of flowers, please consider remembrances in Anthony’s name to Stevens-Swan Humane Society (www. stevens-swan.org).
