Obituary for Mr. Ralph Aceti, Jr. UTICA – Mr. Ralph Aceti, Jr., age 90, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the Masonic Care Community of NY with his loving family by his side. Born in Yorkville on April 26, 1928, Ralph was the son of the late Ralph, Sr. and Maria (Annuich) Aceti. Raised and educated locally, he was a graduate of Whitesboro High School/Class of 1945 and continued his education at MVCC where he received an Associate degree in Business Administration.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Ralph honorably served his country during World War II. After the war, while stationed in England, Ralph met Pamela S. Kosky, and on January 21, 1959 they were married in Utica where they shared 56 devoted years prior to her passing on October 23, 2006. For many years, Ralph was employed with Special Metals, Inc. where he worked in various capacities until his retirement in April 1988.

Concurrently, he owned and operated Ralph Aceti Landscaping. He was known as an extremely honest, ethical man, and he was a hard worker. Like many others from his generation, he made many sacrifices for the betterment of his family.

He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and an excellent provider. He especially enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a classic car enthusiast, and he enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking.

He was a life member of the VFW Whitestown Post #7393, and he was of the Catholic faith. Ralph is survived by his daughters and their loved ones, Lynette Salerno and her fiance Ray Centolella of N. Utica, and Laurene and Rick Smith of East Greenbush NY; and his son, R. Steven Aceti and fiancée Gracie Parisi of San Diego, CA. He held close to his heart the memory of his grandson Jeffery Salerno who passed away on August 28, 1992.

He also leaves his grandchildren, Craig Salerno (Kelly Brown), Becki Salerno (Mike Pepperine), Valerie and Rocco LaBella; Erin and James Cleveland, Meghan Smith (Geoffrey Hall), and Steven Aceti; his great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Justin, Jadon, Hannah, Jordan; Gianna, Juliana, Kaelyn; Karissa, Gianna, Rocco, Alexis; and Charlotte; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws Jeannette Lefkowitz, and Florence Aceti. He was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Rocco Motto; brothers and sister-in-law, Angelo Muttillo, Frank and Jessie Aceti, and Anthony Aceti; brother-in-law, Herb Lefkowitz; and his loving feline companions, Spooky and Twiggy. Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 9:00-11:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc, 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave.

Deacon Richard Prusko will offer a Final Blessing on Thursday at 11:00 at the funeral home upon conclusion of visitation with Military Honors conferred. By family request please omit floral offerings. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
