Obituary for Mr. Anthony Frank “Tony” Frontera UTICA – Mr. Anthony Frank “Tony” Frontera, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at MVHS at St. Luke’s Healthcare with his loving family by his side. Born in Utica in December 1926, Anthony was the son of the late Anthony and Clara Frontera. He was raised and educated locally.

A proud veteran, he honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Tony worked for many years as a fireman at Griffiss Air Force Base. He loved playing pinochle, animals, gardening and socializing with fellow veterans at the American Legion Post #1290.

Anthony is survived by his daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter Lauri, Steve and Sloane Ratliff of La Jolla, CA, his sons, Matthew Frontera of MO, and Michael Frontera of San Francisco, CA. He also leaves his second wife Julie McCarthy of CA, Deidra Juniper of Pensacola FL, along with nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews including: Clareen Miserantino, Fred and Lucia Frontera, Sandy and John Pugh, and Susan and John Fulginitti. He was predeceased by his first wife Anna Mae Frontera, brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Mary Frontera; Dominick and Louisa Frontera and his sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Donald Ellis.
