Angel Miguel Cirilo Guzman, July 01, 1938 — September 16, 2018

Obituary for Mr. Angel Miguel “Cirilo” Guzman UTICA – Mr. Angel Miguel “Cirilo” Guzman, age 80, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the Masonic Care Community of NY with his loving family by his side. Born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico on July 1, 1938, Angel was the son of the late Natividad and Felicia (Miranda) Guzman. He was raised and educated in Cuamo, Puerto Rico, and in 1958 he settled in Utica.

On November 5, 1960 he married the former Eloida “Loida” Gonzalez with whom he shared 57 years. For a number of years, Angel worked at the Utica Veal Company as a butcher. He provided for his children, and when the grandchildren came, he became part of their lives.

The love, laughter, and good times they shared were memorable moments in his life. Angel loved to sing, and he loved his return trips to Puerto Rico. Angel is survived by his wife, Eloida “Loida”; his sons, David Guzman and Tammy Guzman of Utica, and Daniel Guzman.

He held close to his heart the memory of his son Gilbert “Beebo” Guzman who passed away on July 30, 1994. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren, Alyssa Guzman, Erica and Desi Welch, and Jordan Guzman; Gilbert “Beebo” Guzman Jr., Danielle, Jeremy, and Nicholas Guzman; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Layla and Nelson Martinez, and Vangie Guzman, all of Puerto Rico; brothers and sister-in-law, Roberto Guzman of Buffalo, Thomas and Carlita Guzman, and Junior Guzman, all of Puerto Rico; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Elena Roman, Andrea and Alfonzo Ortiz, Elizabeth Santiago, Sara Wilmore, and Ramon Colon. He was predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pearo and Antonia (Davila) Gonzalez.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 11:00-1:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Angel’s Celebration of Life will commence on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 at the funeral home officiated by Pastor David Ossenfort. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
