Obituary for Mr. Cesar Nicole, Sr. UTICA – Mr. Cesar Nicole, Sr., age 87, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the MVHS Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with his loving family by his side. Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on February 28, 1931, Cesar was the son of the late Apolonio Nicola and Nicolasa Rivera. He was raised and educated in Puerto Rico.

On July 30, 1955 he married the former Monserrate Irizarry with whom he shared 30 years in a loving and devoted union prior to her passing in October 1985. Cesar worked as a meat cutter for the Utica Veal Company, the position from which he retired. In the springtime, he took pleasure in working the earth and planting a productive garden.

A man of faith, he was a former member of Iglesias de Cristo Misionera. Cesar is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Cesar Jr. and Dianne Nicole, and Samuel and Sonia Nicole, all of Florida; his grandchildren, Cesar III and Casey Nicole, and Raymond and Brenda Nicole; and his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and sister-in-law Camilia Irizarry of Puerto Rico. He was predeceased by his brother, Dionisio Nicole Rivera; and his sisters, Maria Nicole Rivera, and Hipolito Crespo.

The family extends their thanks to Cesar’s neighbor, Rudy Rosic, for his loving efforts of care and compassion. In keeping with Cesar’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his graveside funeral service on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Agnes Cemetery officiated by Pastor David Ossenfort.
