Obituary for Angelo D. Simone Utica- Angelo. D. Simone, 96, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, into the loving arms of the Lord on Friday, October, 5, 2018 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare. Angelo was born on December 15, 1921 in Utica to the late Dominick and Catherine (Verni) Simone.

He graduated from Utica Schools. On January 21, 1941, Angelo married the love of his life, Lucy Spiridilozzi in St. Anthony’s Church, a blessed union of 77 years. He served his country bravely in the Army during WWII.

During his service he received the American Service Medal as well as the Good Conduct Medal. Angelo was also a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was a foreman for Kelsey Hayes Angelo was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was devoted to his God as he was a life-long communicant of St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church. Any given day Angelo could be found lending a helping hand at the church. He was a charter member of the Knights of St. John, Commandery #385.

Angelo is survived by his beloved wife, Lucy; daughters, Annette (Frank) Sica, Kathleen (John) Russo, Marlene (Bob) Conway, Helen Ann (the late James M.) Taurisano, Mary Therese (Joe) Jerzak; 24 cherished grandchildren; 38 adored great-grandchildren, several in-laws, neices, nephews, cousins, and special friends. He was predeceased by his two brothers and one sister. Relatives and friends are invited to Angelo’s Celebration of Life, which will be held on Monday at 12 noon at Sacred Heart & St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

His family will receive guests after the Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd.
