Obituary for Edward L. Gibbons Clinton – Edward L. Gibbons, 80, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the Lutheran Home. He was born on July 15, 1938, in Utica, the son of Edward and Catherine (Dowd) Gibbons. Edward was a graduate of Sauquoit Valley High School and attended lithography school in New York City.

On December 30, 1995, he married Cecelia (Dziegiel) Wilkinson. Edward was employed as a platemaker at Vicks Lithograph & Printing, Inc., Yorkville for 32 years. He and his wife enjoyed travelling after his retirement.

Edward was a loving husband and father. He was an avid bowler. Everyone enjoyed Ed’s great sense of humor, especially at of Helmuth-Ingalls Post 232 where he and his fellow members gathered.

Edward is survived by his wife, Cecelia; children, Jeffrey Gibbons, Clark Mills, David (Maria Valentin), Marcy; sister, Mary (Doug) Burrows, Apollo Beach, FL, Margaret (Leo) Bitteker, Brooksfield, FL; sister-in-law, Stephanie (Bob) Dominy, Schenectady and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Joan Eisenhut. Relatives and friends are invited to attend graveside services on Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ Cemetery, Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford.

Edward’s family would like to thank the staff of the Katherine Luther Residential Health Care, Applewood Unit, for the care and compassion shown during his time spent with them.
