Obituary for Joan T. Maxim Joan T. (Sears) Maxim, 73, passed away peacefully, October 18, 2018 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare with her family by her side. She was born on November 18, 1944, in Utica, the daughter of the late Gerald and Leona (Mitchell) Sears. Joan attended UCA.

On December 17, 1971, she married Raymond Maxim in Tampa, FL. Joan worked as a Representative at the Bank of America. She is survived by her husband, Raymond; children, Gerald (Cindy) Maxim, Donna (Robert) Rosato, Nathan Maxim and Bradley Maxim; 2 step-children, who Joan thought of as her own, Michael (Melissa) Maxim and Bill (Tonya) Maxim; grandchildren, Gerald, Jr., Miranda, Rebecca, Dominic and Deanna; great-grandchildren, Shae and Seth as well as many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Joan is also survived by her brothers, Gerald (Carol) Sears, Allen (Deborah) Sears and Edward (Betty) Sears; sister, Caroline (Peter) Podagrosi; step-mother, Mary Sears, many nieces and nephews and her “adopted family”, Carmine (Tracy) Perrotta, Trysta, Wyatt and Zachary. She was predeceased by her infant sister, Donna Marie. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd.

, Utica. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Inurnment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clinton.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Joan’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, or a scholarship fund to be set up in Bradley’s name. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
