In earlier years, he was a sportsman and golf was his game. Twice a week he would be spotted swinging a club on an area fairway along with his golfing partner “Smitty”. He also enjoyed bowling at the Vista Lanes with the Wednesday night leagues.

He was a Syracuse University basketball buff and a NY Yankees fan, and the game was always on. Chuck joined his wife at her family parish of St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church.
