Obituary for April Griego Mondragon (Griego) April Griego Mondragon passed away November 9, 2018 at Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces, NM. April was born to Eusebio and Theresa Griego on June 23, 1971 in Embudo, New Mexico and was raised in Taos, New Mexico. She is survived by her husband Steve, her sons Steven and Toby, her Mother Theresa, brother Christopher and wife Jessica, Sister Crystal, niece Miriya, and nephews Christopher, Santiago, and Max.

April married the love of her life Steve Mondragon on June 16, 1994 and made a home in Las Cruces, NM. She proudly served in the United States Army and was the treasurer in the United Military Women of the Southwest. April is described as brazen and bold and while many people say a smile can light up a room, hers could light up a stadium.

She spoke her mind and loved fiercely. Anyone lucky enough to have April touch their life is truly blessed. April was a loving mother and wife, loyal friend and caring to all.

She will be missed by all, and heaven has truly gained an angel. A funeral for April will be held Thursday, November 15 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gevevieve’s Catholic Church, at 100 South Espina, Las Cruces, NM followed by a reception at VFW post 6917 at 5845 Bataan Memorial, Las Cruces, NM and grave side services at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 2:15 pm. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made in April’s name to Mesilla Valley Hospice.
