Aquila “Peggy”‘s Obituary Aquila L. “Peggy” Erb, 88, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Sunday morning, February 17, 2019 while under hospice care at The Gardens at Stroud in East Stroudsburg. Born in Monroe County on January 10, 1931, she was the only child of the late Clair Ivan and Louisa May (Leaman) Davis. She and Nevin C. Erb enjoyed 58 years of marriage prior to his death on July 26, 2012.

She was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. She is survived by cousins, Anna Mae Berger, John William Davis, Jr., Nellie Davis Fuller, Anna Jenetta Smith, Katie Ellen Detrick, John Berger, Jr., and Leroy Stumpp; sisters-in-law, Sandra Erb, Helen Fuoco, and Patricia Erb, and brother-in-law Warren Earl Erb; several nieces and nephews; her foster children, Noreen Pengilly, and Dale Erb, Jr. and her good friend Florence Scerbo, as well as many other friends and neighbors. She attended Stroudsburg Area School District.

Aquila worked in the garment industry for many years, and was a member of Local 234 of the ILGWU. After leaving the garment industry, she was employed at Walmart in East Stroudsburg until her retirement. She was of the Presbyterian faith.

Services will be held on Friday, February 22, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg; with viewing to be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg.
