Obituary for Richard T. Waldron Print Richard “Dick” Waldron, 84, of East Stroudsburg PA, passed away on February 18th. He was the loving husband of Patricia “Aine” (Reasor) Waldron, his wife of 56 years. Born in New York City, he was the son of Thomas and Bridget (McGahern) Waldron.
He had previously lived in Rockland County NY, Manchester/Dorset VT, Ocean Pines MD, and The Villages, FL. He was a retired Vice-President of Fordham University. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army’s 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team “Rakkasans”, having served during the Korean War era.
He loved skiing, golf, and pickleball. In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by son Richard and wife Kathleen (Dillon), son Kevin, son Daniel and wife Brie (Berkery), and son Joseph and wife Meryle (Chapman). He is survived by 9 loving grandchildren: Azure and husband Sean McCormack, C.J., Taylor, Casey, Nina, Conor, Emma, Parker, and Payton, and 2 great-grandchildren; Mason and Madison.
He is predeceased by 2 grandchildren; Caleigh and Justin. He is survived by his sister Mary Doellgast of Ocean Pines MD. He is predeceased by brothers Tom and Jack, and sisters Patsy Grippo and Sheila Goeller.
A celebration of Richard’s life will be held Sunday February 24th at the Hibernian House in Pearl River NY from 2 to 6 pm. Internment under full military honors is planned. Donations may be made in Richard’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project.
