Obituary for Joseph Szakurski Print Joseph Szakurski 97 of Stroudsburg, Pa. died on Sunday Feb. 17, 2019.
He was preceded in death by his companion of many years Rose Rudiger who died in 2013. Joe was born in Chicago, Illinois the son of Mr. & Mrs. Alexander Szakurski. Joe was residing in the Stroudsburg area since 1992 and prior to that he lived in the New Hyde Park, New York area.
He worked as a welder/ builder for many years building many bird houses and wishing wells. He was also an inventor, inventing numerous items including a snow shovel for roofs and truck mud flaps. He was also a member of the merchant marines and was of the catholic faith.
Joe is survived by a daughter Carol Pari and her husband Paul and a granddaughter Rebecca Pari all of Franklin Square, N.Y. There will be a viewing on Thursday Feb. 21, 2019 from 1-3 & 5-7:00pm at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th. St.Stroudsburg, Pa.
Fr. Carmen Perry will conduct a prayer service at 6:00pm on Thursday Feb. 21, 2019 at the funeral home.
