Barbara’s Obituary Barbara A. Litts, 86, of East Stroudsburg, went home to the Lord on Sunday, February 3, 2019, surrounded by her devoted and loving husband, daughters, Tina and Cindy, and granddaughter, Rebecca Waring. She was the wife of James C. Litts, Sr.. They shared 43 years of marriage and adventures.

Born on December 5, 1932 in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Walter C. and Ruth (Brown) Albertson. She was a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School where she was the head drum majorette. In addition to her work in the banking and accounting fields, she was a partner along with her husband in G.H. Litts & Son, Inc..

Later in years she started her own second hand children’s shop, Baby Talk. Barbara was a very active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Craigs Meadows and participated throughout the years in finance committee, vice president of church council, president of the cemetery association, chairman of the Harvest Fair committee, Bible School, Friday Ladies, and the choir. She and her husband started the St. Paul’s Food Pantry in the library of their home which moved to it’s current home located in the church.

In 1983, Barbara along with Cheryl Smith and Catherine Yetter, were instrumental in developing the St. Paul’s Lutheran School to educate children academically as well as spiritually. She cherished her Wednesday evening spiritual services and the church spaghetti suppers. Barabara was a member of the Dorothy Lim Memorial Court #110 – Order Of The Amaranth, American Cancer Society volunteer, and a past member of The Exchange Club.

She enjoyed traveling the country with Jim as he worked on the pipeline. She especially loved meeting all the wonderful people they met along the way. She also loved to cruise and visit casinos.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Cindy Schleinkofer of East Stroudsburg and Tina Tabler and husband Alvar Borg of Espoo, Finland; son, John C. Litts and wife Diane of East Stroudsburg; sister-in-law, Patricia Litts-Young and husband John W. Young; and grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Doris E. Clapper; brother, John E. Albertson; and sons, Gershom H. Litts, Jeffrey C. Litts and James C. Litts Jr.. There will be a celebration of life held on Thursday, February 7, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 139 Craigs Meadow Road, East Stroudsburg; with visitation beginning at 10:30AM followed by the service at 11:00AM with Rev.

Adam Reinhardt officiating. Private burial will follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, as per Barbara’s wishes, please make donation in her name to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church – organ fund, 139 Craigs Meadow Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
