Michael’s Obituary Michael E. Caprioli, 75, of Cresco, passed away Wednesday morning, January 30, 2019, while under hospice care at home. Born October 26, 1943 in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Edwin J. “Chub” and Marjorie V. “Peg” (LaBar) Caprioli. Having lived in Monroe County most of his life, Michael was in the last graduating class of Barrett High School and then went on to the University of Scranton where he earned his Accounting Degree.

He was a Electronics Technician in the U.S. Navy, on the U.S.S. Boxer, during the Vietnam War. Michael was a CPA and owned J.L. Cohen and Associates in Stroudsburg. He was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Knights of Columbus; member and past treasurer of the Barrett Lions Club; and member of the board of directors and past treasurer of American Legion Post 922.

He was also, since 1969, a board member and past president of the Monroe County Bowling Association. Michael was a member of Most Holy Trinity Parish and served on the financial council of the former St . Bernadette’s Roman Catholic Church in Canadensis.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. Surviving are four sisters; Mary Louise Caprioli and Betsy Caprioli both of Cresco, and Sandra Guzzetta and Kathleen Foster both of Spring Valley, CA; and three nieces. Private services and burial will take place at the family’s convenience at the Caprioli Family Cemetery in Canadensis.
