Gary’s Obituary Gary Marvin Trussel Sr. passed away on Friday, March 15th, 2019 at the age of 65. He was a second-generation Houstonian and a proud Texan. Gary had a long career with the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) Local Union 716) and loved the camaraderie that came with his job up until his retirement.

He was an active Mason with the Albert J. DeLange Lodge #1403 for many years and a lifelong member of Almeda Baptist Church. Gary had a big heart and never hesitated to give the shirt off of his back to someone in need. He acquired his pilot’s license at an early age and loved the beach, hunting and fishing.

His home was a welcome spot for friends to gather and have fun. He enjoyed playing guitar and jamming with his friends in his music room. He especially enjoyed attending the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo each year.

Gary will be missed by his extended family and life-long friends, many of whom went all the way back to James Madison High School. His son, Gary Trussel Jr. of Austin, Texas, his grandchildren, Brianna, Bryan, Leah, and Raven, and his sister, Elizabeth Trussel Garver of Prairie Village, Kansas, survive Gary. A remembrance service will be held on Wednesday, March 27th at 10:00 AM in the Chapel at Chapelwood United Methodist Church, located at 11140 Greenbay St, Houston, TX 77024.

Reception to follow.
