Marian’s Obituary Marian Valentine, 80, a resident of Stroudsburg for over 40 years, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She will be sorely missed. Born July 16, 1938 in Nanticoke, she was next to the youngest of five daughters of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Shelmerdine) Valentine, also of Philadelphia.

A long time Monroe County resident, she was awarded Outstanding Achievement in Overcoming a Handicap from Burnley Workshop, lived independently and was employed by such places as Beaver House, finally retiring from Mollies Restaurant . She was a member of St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church. Surviving are a sister; cousins, thirteen nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters. Services will be held on Saturday, March 30, at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, 818 Main Street, Stroudsburg with viewing at 9:00AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM with Rev. Carmen Perry as celebrant.

Private cremation and burial at a later date at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow.
