Allen’s Obituary Allen F. Raish, 77, of Tannersville, passed away Sunday evening, February 3, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem after being stricken with a heart attack on Saturday evening. He was the husband of Kathryn “Katy” A. (Walters) Raish with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. Born on April 7, 1941 in East Stroudsburg, he was the only child of the late Horace and Melva (Martin) Raish and was a lifetime resident of Tannersville.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968. Allen was the office manager of Charlie Gordon Oil Company which later became Holtzman Petroleum in East Stroudsburg; and then was general manager of Burrough’s Fuels in Stroudsburg. Since retirement he has worked part-time at Clark Funeral Home.

As a child he was a member of Tannersville Methodist Church and currently attended Cherry Lane United Methodist Church in Tannersville. Allen was also active at Parkside Chapel in Henryville where he did maintenance work and attended summer services. He was a member of the Tannersville Union Cemetery board of directors and a former volunteer driver for Central Pocono Ambulance Corps.

He has volunteered at the Pocono Township Fire Company’s annual carnival for over 65 years and was also active with Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed Wednesday morning breakfast with friends at Cook’s Corner; and he and his late friend, Joe Malivuk, were known as “Frick and Frack” helping friends with odd jobs and maintenance work. In addition to his wife, surviving are two children, Gary A. Raish and partner Bob Riday of Stroudsburg and Dorothy “Dottie” K. Brunell and husband Bob of Bartonsville; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harry and Delores Walters of Moorestown; nieces and nephews, Bryan and Gail Walters, Donna and Dave Boyer, Bill and Kate Walters, and Ed and Les Walters; and several great nieces and great nephews.

There will be a viewing from 5:00 to 8:00PM on Thursday evening, February 7, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. Services will be held on Friday, February 8, from St. John Lutheran Church, 9 North Ninth Street, Stroudsburg; where viewing will begin at 1:00PM followed by the funeral service at 2:00PM. Cremation will follow with private burial at Custard’s Cemetery in Bartonsville.
