Alberta’s Obituary Alberta J. Weiss, 83, of Tannersville, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Pocono in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of John J. Weiss, Sr., sharing 60 years of marriage. Born on August 7, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Albert F. and Mildred (Bush) Getz.

She was a lifetime resident of Monroe County, graduating from Pocono Mountain School in Tannersville; and was employed in the textile and retail industry. Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters, Carol LaBar and husband Randy of Bartonsville, Mary Brethauer and husband Neal of Greentown, and Dot Weiss of Tannersville; a son, Edward Getz and wife Susan of Scotrun; sister, Ruth Bird of Bartonsville; stepchildren, John Weiss, Jr. and wife Linda, James Weiss and wife Robin, and Brenda Hunter and husband Howard; 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert Getz, Jr. and William Getz; her sister, Ida Mae Getz; and grandson, Benjamin Weiss.

Cremation will take place and graveside services will be held at a later date.
