Ardella’s Obituary Ardella M. Thimm, age 98, of Mosinee, Wisconsin, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 9, 2018. Ardella passed away at Acorn Hill Senior Living. She was born in Tomahawk, Wisconsin on April 18, 1920.

The family moved to Milwaukee where in 1938 she graduated from Messmer High School. Ardella was united in marriage to Edward H. Thimm at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, in Milwaukee on June 24, 1939. She was a charter member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church and was the Manager and Cook at the church from 1964 until 1980.

The couple moved to Lake Tomahawk in 1980 and Ardella was then employed with the MHLT School District Hot Lunch Program. Ardella was very artistic and began painting and taking classes at the age of 71. This brought her many hours of enjoyment.

She lived in Rhinelander beginning in 1995 and was active in the Lakeland Art League, a Eucharistic Minister at the Rhine Haus, and volunteered at the St. Joseph Thrift Shop for eighteen years. She enjoyed traveling, cross country skiing, and playing scrabble. Ardella always put the Lord and her family first.

She was a member of the former St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rhinelander and currently a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. Surviving are her children; Dennis Thimm of Lake Tomahawk, Michael (Lily) Thimm of Plover, Andrew (Renee) Thimm of Milwaukee, Joseph (Deborah) Thimm of Cedarburg, Edward (Theodora) Thimm of Menomonee Falls, Myrtes (Michael) Burlingame of Kronenwetter, Janet Doheny of Waukesha, daughter-in-law; Kathleen Thimm of Bullhead City, Arizona, son-in-law; Gary Bradshaw of Hampton, Virginia, twenty-six grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Wesley Bennett and Amelia Bennett, one sister; Myrtes Jean Bennett, husband; Edward Thimm, sons; Louis and Nicholas Thimm and her daughter; Elisabeth Bradshaw. The visitation for Ardella will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul Catholic Church, located at 603 4th. Street, Mosinee.

Fr. Don Meuret and Fr. Robert Gloudeman will be concelebrating the mass.

Interment will take place on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Wilderness Rest Cemetery in Lake Tomahawk. In lieu of flowers, Ardella’s family suggests either giving to your favorite charity or doing a random act of kindness. The family would like to thank the staff at Acorn Hill and greatly appreciate their gracious and loving care of Ardella.
