Obituary for Ariodante N. “Marty” DiBiase WATERVLIET – Ariodante N. “Marty” DiBiase, 94, died peacefully Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Born in Watervliet on February 14, 1924, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Theresa Preveizaine DiBiase. A lifelong resident of Watervliet, Marty was a US Navy veteran of World War II.

He was employed as a hairdresser for over 30 years working with his brother Leo (Sylvio) at Lee’s Beauty Shop in Albany. In his retirement, he enjoyed bartending at Larry’s Tavern in Watervliet for his son Marty, where he was able to socialize and tell stories. He was everyone’s favorite bartender.

He was a communicant of the former St. Brigid’s Church in Watervliet where he was an usher. His family looked forward to Monday dinners at his home where he cooked the pasta and sauce for the family gatherings. Every summer he loved to help his late brother Jim (who was blind) by taking him around and being his brother’s eyes.

He also taught all his granddaughters how to drive at the Two Guys parking lot in Menands. He is the beloved father of Mario Dante DiBiase of Watervliet, John (Heather) DiBiase of Clifton Park, Nicholas (Debra) DiBiase of Menands and the late Denise Seeley; proud grandfather of Heather (Michael) Pakatar, Brianna (David) Coughlin, Tayler DiBiase, Nicole Burke and Mark Douglas Seeley; great grandfather of Hadley and Liam Coughlin, Hannah and Justin Pakatar; brother of the late Helen Marguin, Josephine Foti, Arthur, James and S. Leo DiBiase; godfather of Joseph (Helen) Foti. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to our dad’s niece, Noreen Buff for her weekly Saturday visits and to Meals on Wheels for their daily nourishing meals for dad. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass on Tuesday at 1:30 pm at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 2416 7th Avenue, Watervliet with Rev. Donald Rutherford, Pastor officiating.
