Arlene L. (Sis) Smith, 88, of Hughesville passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born December 1, 1930, in Tivoli, she was a daughter of Earlsie and Alice (Worthington) Montgomery.

She married her high school sweetheart, John H. Smith, on March 25, 1950. Sis was a graduate of Hughesville High School, class of 1948, and proudly served as their alumni secretary. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, and a secretary for Dr. Charles Amer.

Surviving are her husband of 68 years: John, her children: Susan (Ken) Lundy, of Harrisburg, Dan (Susan) Smith of Unityville, Steven (Linda) Smith of Altamonte Springs, FL, Robert (Denise) Smith of Hughesville, Doug (Darl) Smith of Hughesville, 11 grandchildren: Shawn (April) Smith, Julie Smith (Cait Watts), Jason (Julie) Smith, Lindsey (Aerial) Wallenda-Weldy, Ryan Smith, Brent Smith, Ashton (Josh) Hackenberg, Shane Smith, Kyle Weldy, Austin (Kenzie) Smith, and Kyle Lundy, 6 great-grandchildren: Cooper Smith, Cael Smith, Mavryk Hackenberg, Ellie Smith, Hudson Smith and Cambria Hackenberg, a brother: George Montgomery, and a sister-in-law: Cindy Montgomery. She was preceded in death by two brothers: William (Bill) and Ronald Montgomery. In honor of her wishes, there will be no services.
