Olvera; sons Victor (Dorothy) Olvera, Oscar (Karen) Olvera, Joel Olvera; daughter Victoria (Edward) Northway; brother Gonzalo (Anita) Olvera; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

Armando was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all those in his life. Born in Michoacán, Mexico in the town of Maravatio on December 31, 1932. He immigrated to the United States and coming to Nebraska in 1962.

Armando settled with his family in the town of Cozad, Nebraska in 1970 and attained U.S. citizenship in 1986. He set roots there eventually retiring from Tenneco-Monroe in 1996 after 34 years. Armando and Josefina remained in Cozad.

Armando was an avid photo and videographer who always seemed to have a camera with him to record the lives of his family no matter how ordinary or trivial it may have seemed. He kept all these precious memories preserved for his family to look back on and remember. Armando loved to travel and would often pack the entire family in station wagon or van and travel cross country to see the sights and visit with friends and family.

Armando was also what we now call a DIYer. Fiercely independent and mechanically inclined and a stickler for maintenance, he quite often spent his free time working on his cars collecting a vast array of tools and parts. He believed in being prepared and as such he kept spares of things he felt would or could be needed in an emergency.

Armando was also very interested in technology in its many forms. He had a voracious appetite for reading and had numerous subscriptions to magazines on many topics to include photography, automobiles, and audio/video technology. Armando worked hard for all he had and his greatest accomplishment, of which he was the proudest, were his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Armando loved each one of the them with all his heart and they each in turn brought him great joy. Their laughter and smiles filling his heart and it overflowed with love in return. Being a part of their lives and seeing them grow up meant the world to him.

It was a priceless treasure he would never part with. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Armando S. Olvera please visit our Sympathy Store.
