Phyllis A. Richardson Elm Creek Resident Phyllis A. Richardson, 85, of Elm Creek passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Kearney Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Elm Creek. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 28 at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home- Elm Creek Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Condolences may be shared online at www.

osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services. Phyllis A. Richardson was born on November 12, 1933 in Overton to Walter and Anna Ester Quin (Hemstorm) Hinrichsen.

Phyllis received her education from Overton Public School, graduating with the class of 1952. She worked as a cook for Elm Creek Public Schools for 15 years. Phyllis was united in marriage to William Hagan on June 1, 1952 at the First Christian Church in Overton and to this union two children were born: Duane and Beverly.

William passed away in 1979. Phyllis later married Norman Richardson on April 3, 1982 at the First Christian Church in Elm Creek. Phyllis was a member of the First Christian Church in Elm Creek.

Her hobbies included crocheting, cooking and reading. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Norman Richardson of Elm Creek; son, Duane Hagan and his wife, Krys of Ogallala; her daughter, Beverly Schroeder of Elm Creek; stepson, Cole Richardson and his wife, Jessi of Lincoln; 7 grandsons; 4 granddaughters; 5 great-grandsons; 3 great-granddaughters; brothers, Wilmer Hinrichsen of Elm Creek, Dean Hinrichsen of Overton, Jay Hinrichsen and his wife, Delila of Kearney, Ray Hinrichsen and his wife, Mary Jane of Grand Island; sisters, Delores Ropers of Sargent and Lucile Moore and her husband, George of Overton; brother-in-law, John Richardson and his wife, Elaine of Midwest City, Oklahoma; along with many other relatives and friends. Phyllis was preceded in death by her first husband, William Hagan; her parents; brother, Floyd “Hank” Hinrichsen and his wife, Marje; sister-in-law, Fern Hinrichsen; brothers-in-law, Louie Ropers and William Richardson and his wife, Doris; son-in-law, Dan Schroeder; and several aunts and uncles.
