Arthur’s Obituary Mr. Arthur Washington, age 54, a native of Alma, Alabama, and a resident of Gainestown, AL was born March 26, 1964 to the parentage of the late Mr. Juran Hunt and the late Mrs. Bertha Mae Washington Hunt. He departed this life January 25, 2019 at Jackson Medical Center. Mr. Hunt was a member of Antioch AME Church in Gainestown, AL.
He was employed with Singleton Logging Company in Grove Hill, AL. He loved to hunt deer, go snag fishing, and in his leisure, enjoyed refinishing cars. “Rat”, as he was affectionately called, was a friend to everyone.
He never met a person he would not help; even to give them the shirt off his back. He loved being with his family and friends and was the life of the party. He will be remembered by two of his favorite sayings: “I’ll bite….
. I’m a bad boy”, and “I want you better than me”. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jarvis Hunt.
Fond memories will linger in the hearts of his loving and devoted family; two sons, Charlie Juran Black and Colen Black, both of Gainestown, AL; one daughter, Caprice Hunt of Gainestown, AL; devoted companion, Charolette Black Jones of Gainestown, AL; one sister, Shaletha (Derrick) Hunt of Birmingham, AL; two brothers, Charles (Jackie) Washington and Edward (Sylvia) Hunt, both of Gainestown, AL; five grandchildren, Shanechia, Joshua, Alissa, Audree, and Isayah Black; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles, other relatives and friends; a devoted friend, Charlie “Bug” Black of Gainestown, AL. Viewing Friday, February 1, 2019, 2-6pm at Andrews Funeral Home; viewing Saturday, February 2, 2019, 11am until the 12 noon service at Antioch AME Church, Gainestown Road, Gainestown, AL; Rev. Emma Constant, pastor and eulogist.
