Edward’s Obituary Mr. Edward Charles Berry, age 53, a native of Bronx, NY and a resident of the Walker Springs Community of Jackson, AL, was born June 9, 1965 to the parentage of Joan Hannon Berry and the late Jeremiah Berry. He departed this life at his home on December 26, 2018. After graduating from Harry S. Truman High School in Bronx, NY, he moved to Alabama, attended, and graduated from Hobson State Community College (currently Coastal Alabama Community College) in Thomasville, AL where he obtained his AA Degree.
Earlier in life, he attended Little Burrah Baptist Church. He later united with Church of Acts in Mt. Vernon, AL, but still fellowshipped at Little Burrah as often as possible.
Charles, as he was affectionately known, retired as Team Leader Deckhand with Ingram Barge. He enjoyed working on his lawn, and was an avid fan of Alabama Crimson Tide Football. He will be forever cherished in the hearts of his loving and devoted wife, Anita Smith Berry of Jackson, AL; one devoted daughter, Stephanie (Craig) Brown of Tuscaloosa, AL; two sons; one devoted, Stephen Charles Berry of Jackson, AL and Dequavian Williams of Gainestown, AL; mother, Joan Hannon Berry of Middleton, NY; three brothers, Jeremiah Berry, Jr. of Middleton, NY; Joseph Leggett of Augusta, GA, and Willie (Beverly) Leggett of Saint Robert, MO; two sisters, Lavonia (Greg) Washington, and Vanessa Packer of Mobile, AL; loving and devoted step-mother, Sammie Mae Robinson of Saint Robert, MO; loving and devoted mother-in-law, Aldora Smith; loving and devoted uncle, Leroy Hannon; loving and devoted aunt, Crissie Lewis, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Viewing Thursday, January 3, 2019, 10am until the 11am service at Little Burrah Baptist Church, 11800 Morning Star Road, Jackson, AL 36545 (Manila Community), Rev. Jimmy Snell, pastor; Apostle Ron Williams, eulogist. Interment in Hannon Cemetery in the Manila Community of Jackson, AL.
