Emanuel King, Sr. answered the Master’s call on Sunday, February 24, 2019, surrounded by his family at his residence in Leroy, AL. Born October 21, 1932 to Nathan Moore, Sr. and Melissa Gwinn Moore in the Carson Community, he was 86 years of age. A lifelong dedicated member of the Good Stone AME Zion Church (formerly Mt.

Stoney) in Leroy, AL, he served in many capacities including; Church Secretary, Pastor’s Steward, Sunday School Superintendent, and Trustee. Emanuel was employed at several places in his full lifetime including Honorable Service in the US Army, McKee Construction, Butts and Billingsley, Lonestar Cement, and retiring from the City of Jackson, AL Public Works Department. After meeting Annie Gray Todd they were united in Holy Matrimony on December 6, 1955 in Prestwick, AL.

He was dedicated to his family and an excellent provider, raising livestock and farming. Preceding him in death are his parents, Nathan, Sr. and Melissa Moore; step-mother, Daisy Moore; siblings, George King, Clarniece Moore, Jacob Moore, Margaret Cave, Percy Moore, Ruth Moore, Mack Moore, Dennis Moore, Nathan, Moore, Jr., Sarah Peyton, Clyde Maye, Sr. and Mae Webb. Left to forever cherish his precious memories are his loving wife, Annie G. King, Leroy, AL; two sons, Jimmie Lee (Elizabeth) King, Leroy, AL, and Emanuel (Kendra) King, Jr., Mobile, AL; two daughters, Helen (Fred) Bonner, and Janie Simon, both of Leroy, AL; four sisters, Dorothy King, Detroit, MI, Emily Jackson, Rockville, AL, Ella (Alfred) Howard, Atlanta, GA, and Bernice Jones, Dothan, AL; a brother, Samuel Moore, Kansas City, KS; twelve grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
