He is preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Hill Anderson, Sr. and Hallie Newton Anderson; and loving sister, Barbara Anderson Thombs and brother-in-law, Charles Leonard Thombs. Bud is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Dorothy Wimberly Anderson; he is her shining star of 32 years.

He was so proud of his most faithful son, Jason Douglas Anderson and caring daughter-in-law, Anna Coleman Anderson. He most loved his three grandchildren, Gracie, Caleb and Chase Anderson; and cherished his special niece, Carol Thombs Evers (Dave). He loved his great nephew and great niece, Jonathan (Kate) and Jennifer (Frannie) Evers, and three nieces and three nephews; four great-great nieces and one great-great nephew.

Bud was so grateful for his attentive sisters and brothers-in-law. He had a heart of gold for his family members and lifelong friends. He very much enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking.

Born March 27, 1946 in Richmond, VA, Bud faithfully served his country in the Virginia National Guard. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon at Bennett Funeral Home in Mechanicsville on Friday, April 5, 2019 with a memorial service beginning at Noon. A reception will follow at New Highland Baptist Church, 9200 New Ashcake Road in Mechanicsville.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in his honor to The American Diabetes Association.
