Obituary for Audrey A. Henderson East Nassau – Audrey A. Henderson, age 70, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at her home in East Nassau surrounded by her loved ones. Audrey was born on January 1, 1948, to the late Elizabeth and Maxwell Shackett. A caring, honest, and loving individual, Audrey worked for the Hess Company for over 20 years before retiring in 2010.
In life, she took pleasure in participating in leisure activities such as reading and watching Hallmark movies. She was also fond of various outdoor activities such as fishing, boating, paddle boarding, and kayaking. With her adventurous spirit, Audrey loved to travel and made a hobby out of collecting souvenir spoons at every new destination, leading to her assortment of over 80 spoons.
Above all else, Audrey enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends. Audrey leaves behind her beloved husband, Richard Henderson of East Nassau, with whom she shared over 40 years of blissful marriage. A cherished mother, she is survived by her children; Tina, Russell, Amy and Matthew.
She will also be missed by 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and her siblings; Marie, Grace, Portia, Jimmy, and Maxwell. Audrey, may you find peace from the pain that plagued you in life. We hope that our dogs Useless and Tootsie are keeping you company.
