B. Jean (Gearhart) Thomas, 83, of Hermitage, passed away on Friday December 28th, 2018 at Sharon Regional Hospital in Sharon, PA. Jean was born on March 5th, 1935 to Glen Elwood and Christine Ruth (Herdman) Gearhart in Newton-Hamilton, PA. She graduated from Hickory High School class of 1953.

Jean worked for Westinghouse Inc. and as the engineering department secretary for Ross Industries in Midland, VA. She was of Protestant faith. Jean was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan all her life and was known to follow games even as a young girl.

Most important to her was her family who she loved spending time with. Jean is survived by her son, Glen (Kathy) Thomas of Mercer, PA, daughter, Pam Thomas of Sharon, PA, 2 grandchildren, Glen Thomas, Kristina Thomas, and sister, Glenda (Jerrie) O’Brien of Warren, OH. She was preceded in death by father, Glen Elwood Gearhart, mother, Christine Ruth Gearhart, sisters, Arlene Gearhart, Urla Sterling, Janet Pompey, and brother, Glen Gearhart.

Friends may call Thursday, January 3rd, 2019 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at SHERMAN Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 3rd, 2019, 1:00 pm in the SHERMAN Funeral Home, Hermitage, PA with Pastor Aaron Lego officiating.

Burial will take place in Americas Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Jean. Arrangements entrusted to the SHERMAN Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
