Barbara Ann Brayboy 74 years, 11 months and 15 days of Greenville now is waiting for God’s call on May 16, 2018. A celebration for Barbara will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3114 Terrell Road Greenville, Texas 75402-7911. Barbara was born May 31, 1943 in Birmingham, Alabama.

She is the daughter of the late John B. Chatmon and Annie Ruth Colquitt Chatmon. She was raised and attended school in Birmingham. After graduating, she went on to obtain her LPN license.

In 1963, she moved to New York where she worked in the healthcare field. On August 7, 1965, she married the love of her life and through their union they were blessed with 4 children. She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Jared Brayboy in 2016.

In February 1985, she went to work for the state of New York Workers Compensation Board, retiring in 1995. In 2013, she and her husband moved to Greenville, Texas. Barbara was baptized at the age of 13.

She has been a longtime member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Barbara was legally blind, but she was an avid reader of braille and even had the desire to write stories in braille on her brand new typewriter. She is loved and will be missed by her husband Vernon Brayboy of Greenville.

Daughters, Paula Brayboy of Austin, Texas and Rachel Humphrey & husband Gabriel of Victorville, California. Son, Timothy Brayboy of New York. Granddaughter, Alicia B. of Los Angeles, CA.

Grandson, Matthew Chapman of New York, NY. Sisters, Janice Chatmon of Michigan City, Indiana and Gwendolyn Terrell & husband Tony of New York, NY. Brothers, John Chatmon Jr. of Atlanta, Ga and Douglas Wayne Chatmon & wife Dormanique of Birmingham, Al.
