Obituary for Barbara Ann Thornton Barbara Ann Thornton, age 86, of Adams, Tennessee, died Friday, October 12, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 o’clock am, Tuesday, October 16th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Brother Tyler Estep officiating. Burial will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery in Paducah, KY at 1 o’clock pm.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00PM Monday, October 15th, and again on Tuesday beginning at 9:00AM until the hour of service at 10:00 AM. Barbara was born on March 23, 1932 in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Fred and Anna Louise Taylor Joiner.

She owned White Haven Assisted Living and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Wesley Sample; 2nd husband, Ray Thornton; and beloved special friend, Stefan Lach. Survivors include her son, Ronnie (Nancy) Sample; daughter, Gail (Butch) Turner; step-daughters, Kelli (Mike) Snider, Cindy (Tom) Sherman and Markie (Larry) Love; grandchildren, Taylor Ann (Matt) Reynolds, Joey (Perri) Morrell, Jennifer Bullington and Tim; great-grandchildren, Addison, Eli, Grace, Turner, Noah and Jacob; 9 step-grandchildren; and 15 step great-grandchildren.

If so desired, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Liberty Baptist Building Fund. All donations may be sent in care of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View. AUSTIN & BELL FUNERAL HOME in Pleasant View is in charge of these arrangements.
