Barbara’s Obituary Barbara Anne Meek was born in Hunt County, East Texas, on December 9, 1945 to Dora and John Metcalf. She passed away January 20, 2019 in Garland, Texas. Barbara married Gene Meek on July 5, 1962.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters Betty Sue and Nita Lewis, brother Robert Metcalf, and granddaughter Amanda Turbeville. She is survived by her sisters Nannie Metcalf and Patsy Mercer; brothers John, Herbert, and Gilmer Metcalf; daughter, Laura Turbeville and son-in-law Jim Turbeville; granddaughter Christy Turbeville, and great-grandchildren Christopher Joe, Cheyenne Michelle and Jessie James Turbeville. She passed away peacefully in her sleep with her daughter Laura and dog Morgan at her side.

She was a big Cowboys Fan. John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
