Mrs. Barbara Annell P. Matthews, aged 81, loving wife of the late Howard Rudolph Matthews, went to be with the Lord on Sunday May 12th, 2019 after an illness. Graveside funeral service, directed by the Carolina Funeral Home, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday May 16th, 2019, at the St. Paul’s Methodist Church Cemetery, Coward, S.C. The family will have visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 15th, 2019, at the home of the deceased, 334 Anderson Bridge Road, Scranton, S.C. Mrs. Matthews was born on October 15th, 1937 in Florence County, S.C. and was the daughter of the late Sid Washington Parrott and Sallie Alma Matthews.

Surviving her is her brother, Eulon Ferland Parrott of Scranton, daughter, Dale M. (Bernard) Roberts of Boston, Massachusetts, sons, Howard (Judy) Matthews of Trinidad and Tobago, Rex (Pam) Matthews of Florence. She was also the loving grandmother of 6 and the great grandmother of 7. Mrs. Matthews was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Rudolph Matthews, sister, Lois P. (Curtis) Gill, and brothers, Harry Lee (Pam) Parrott, Donald (Ola Mae) Parrott, and Sidney (Lena Mae) Parrott.

Memorials may be made to the First United Pentecostal Holiness Church at 2401 W. McCown St., Florence, S.C. 29501.
