Barbara Arline (Wellman) Cooper, 94, of Bellingham passed away Wed. July 11, 2018 in her home. She was the wife of the late Ernest H. Cooper who died in 2007.

Mrs. Cooper worked as the secretary to the principal at Bellingham High School for over 20 years. She was born in Milford, July 5, 1924, the daughter of the late Raymond and Sara (Potter) Wellman and was a graduate of Milford High School. She also furthered her education to be a pediatric nurse.

Arline was strong… Read More » in her faith and was an avid attendee of the Cornerstone Church in Uxbridge. She was active with Stonecroft Ministries – Christian Woman’s Connection. In earlier years, she had taught Sunday School and held bible studies.

She enjoyed knitting and was a member of the knitting club “Knit Wits”. She loved time she spent with her family, especially with her grandchildren. Mrs. Cooper is survived by her children, Louis O. and his wife Sue Cooper of Vermont; Penelope A. and her husband Kenneth Cates of Uxbridge, Donna A. Cooper Bogolea of Bellingham and Dean E. and his wife Sue Cooper of Milford two brothers, Robert Wellman of Maine and Richard Wellman of Milford; a sister, Evelyn Heinrich of Chelmsford; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Harold R. Cooper; a sister, Joanne Saunders; a son-in-law, Jerry Bogolea and a daughter-in-law Helen T. Cooper. Visiting hours will be held Monday, July 16, 2018 from 9-11 AM in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 480 Church Street, Whitinsville followed by a funeral service at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Mechanic St., Bellingham.
