Funeral services for Barbara Jordy, 80, of Huntington, will be held Monday, February 18, 2019, at 12:00 Noon at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Zavalla with Pastor Terry Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery. Mrs. Jordy was born November 22, 1938 in Houston, Texas, the daughter of the late Henry Bailey Eubanks and Mary (Ladish) Eubanks West, and died Friday, February 15, 2019 at her residence.

Mrs. Jordy was a very strong woman. She loved her family dearly and loved spending time with them. Mrs. Jordy worked at Carlene’s Café for many years.

She enjoyed working in her yard, cooking and baking, and watching soap operas and game shows. Mrs. Jordy will be missed by many. Mrs. Jordy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Judy Smith of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Susan Smith of Coldspring, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Jason Nerren of Zavalla; son and daughter-in-law, David and Joy Jordy of Zavalla; granddaughter and husband, Kristen and Dakota Gilchrist of Huntington; granddaughter, Jennifer Smith of Huntington; grandson and wife, Josh and Melanie Smith of Coldspring, TX; granddaughter, Ally Smith of Coldspring, TX; granddaughter and husband, Tori and Blayde Valencia of Aransas Pass, TX; granddaughter, Haley Nerren of Zavalla; grandson, David Nerren of Zavalla; grandson and wife, Timmy and Kristi Jordy of Zavalla; granddaughter and husband, Keisha Jordy and Kevin Floyd of Zavalla; along with numerous great-grandchildren,1 great-great-grandchild, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Jordy Jr.; son, Bobby Glenn Smith; sister, Betty Jane Smith; and grandson, Little Dave Jordy. Pallbearers will be Josh Smith, Brian Smith, Timmy Jordy, Dalton Jordy, Bryson Floyd, Kevin Floyd, and Waylon Jones. Honorary pallbearer will be Blayde Valencia.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Harbor Hospice. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, Monday, February 18, 2019 at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Zavalla, prior to the funeral service. Shafer Funeral Home, Lufkin directors.
