Obituary for Ms. Barbara Lorraine Franke Franke – Barbara Lorraine Franke, age 76, of Cross City, Florida passed away on June 25, 2018 at Ocala Regional Medical Center in Ocala, FL. Barbara was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 21, 1941 to the late Joseph R. Culp and Helen Louise Pierce Culp. After attending high school in Piqua, Ohio, Barbara married the love of her life, Larry M. Franke.

Together they lovingly raised their 5 children and enjoyed 37 happy years of marriage. Barbara was a devoted wife and loving mother who enjoyed taking care of her family and working as a Dietary Technician. She was employed at the Northeast Florida State Hospital in Macclenny, FL in the Dietary Department for many years.

Barbara and Larry resided in Jacksonville and Macclenny several years, but more recently Barbara lived in Cross City and Ocala, FL. Barbara’s main passion in life was her family, but she also enjoyed all crafts. She was an avid sewer who loved quilting, crocheting, and making afghans.

Later in life, Barbara enjoyed her adult coloring books and daily puzzles. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Larry M. Franke, Sr. her daughter, Kimberly Miller; her half-brothers, William, Robert, and Ronald Anthony; and her son-in-law, Darrell Nobles. Barbara is survived by her loving children, Desiree (George) Painter of Ocala, FL, Sheila (Joe) Rolfer of St. Paul, MN, Brenda Nobles of Steinhatchee, FL, and Larry (Sheila) Franke, Jr. of Middleburg, FL; half-sister, Sheila Brown; 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Barbara’s Life will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Cuyler with Brother Al Dormincy officiating. Interment will follow at North Prong Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday an hour prior to the service at the church.
