Beaufort O. Wood, 66, of Lexington, departed this life on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Genesis Healthcare Salisbury Center. He was born October 1, 1952 in Davidson County to Charlie Wood, Sr. and Sophie Phillips Wood. He was a member of Files Chapel Baptist Church and sang with the Men’s Choir.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Charlie Wood, Jr., J.T. Wood, Evernee Wood, Herbert Wood and L.C. Wood and a sister, Veola Petty. He leaves to forever cherish his memory five children: Jeffrey Mills, Vera Small, Bridget (Kenny) Wells, Sophie (Corey) Buggs and MarQuita Wood; three sisters: Pauline Smith, Nennie (Rayvon) Leverett and Mae Curry; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A service of remembrance will be Friday at 2:00pm at Files Chapel Baptist Church.
